An operating theatre is a critical space within a hospital from a clean air perspective as procedures expose patients with different immune response to a variety of pathogens and the operating staff to a range of chemical and gasses used in those procedures. Surgical site infections are one of the key areas of concern and prevention for healthcare providers. The operating staff needs to work in clean suits for an extended period of time this makes the thermal comfort requirements more demanding. The newer regulations have fixed limits to the levels of dust and other particles that the air can contain and the fresh air requirements. We use Halton’s VITA OR solutions to meet and exceed all these requirements. Most current ventilation solutions do not address the requirements of Hybrid operating rooms, provide a clean environment to complete room instead of just below the operating canopy and future flexibility or reconfiguration of the space. VITA solutions meet those requirements and has controls that manage the airflow for specific room occupancy to save energy without affecting the parameters to be controlled.
Mobile operating rooms or temporary areas set up for emergency procedures can us solutions and tools such as the ‘Halton Vita Vex’ for anesthetic purposes or the mobile ‘Halton Vita OR Cell’ which can allow for safer surgery.
